Best Breakfast

Breakfast is an essential, must-not-be-missed part of the day.

We’d argue that the same can be said about these dishes.

Whether you like it sweet or you’re partial to savoury, these one-of-a-kind venues offer early morning dishes that are simply delish! From Noosa to Buderim, here are the best breakfast places on the Sunshine Coast.

I. Smashed Avocado from Canteen Café

Since 1998, Canteen Café has been serving “fresh local flavours” to Noosa natives and tourists alike. This warm weekend getaway is saturated with cheery wooden tones, rich scents, and plenty of local colour.

Located along the Noosa Junction main strip, the busy, bustling background only serves to enhance the café’s friendly atmosphere.

Enjoy the cosy comforts of their indoor booths or perch street-side as you munch the must-try modern comfort foods of their menu. The Smashed Avocado is our recommended go-to: rich, creamy, and incredibly filling. Good on its own, but you can always pay a little extra to add some wood smoked bacon or grilled haloumi.

Craving some crunch? Try their BBQ Pork Belly Omelette.

Prefer the classics? They make a mean Eggs on Toast.

II. Veggs Benedict from Café Vie

Vegans, vegetarians, and plant-based souls; lend me your ears (and prep your stomachs) as we cover the ever-awesome Café Vie. Serving Brunch, Lunch, and a bit of in-between “Munch” – for the weary travellers who wander in between 11AM and 3PM – this beautiful café is cosily tucked away in Gloucester Centre, Buderim and it serves arguably the best vegan food on the Sunshine coast.

The interior is decorated with light wood, clean colours, and large splashes of unfiltered natural light.

The people are pretty much the same; light, colourful, and unabashedly welcoming.

Their meat-free menu is bursting with enough flavours here to appease even the most hard-core meat-etarians, and the presentation is simply divine. Very Instagrammable, that’s for certain.

Try their Veggs Benedict for a golden experience or The ‘Vrioche’ if you’re craving something sharp and juicy.

To satisfy your sweet tooth, we recommend their ‘Honey Comb’ And Get It – which is essentially this delightful stack of almond chocolate layered pancakes.

III. Pork & Cheddar Breakkie Burger at FOMO

Craving a beachside breakfast? This bar-turned-café is the place to be. Cool, casual, and oozing with that unmistakable local feel, FOMO is a total gem tucked in a corner of the Sunshine Beach Village. Great food, great people, and plenty of sights to drink in while you drink up a warm cup of in-house coffee.

The menu itself is creative and constantly changing, as FOMO’s chefs are always coming up with new dishes and local eats. Keeps you on your toes, but in the best way. Truly a one-of-a-kind experience that you need to have at least once before you leave.

Their Pork & Cheddar Breakkie Burger comes highly recommended – with a side of fried egg, jalapeno aioli, and chutney on an English muffin.

For something fun, colourful, and fully Instagrammable, order their Poke Bowl.

Prefer something easy to eat? They’ve got a great Smoked Bacon, Pesto, Fried Egg & Rocket Wrap.
